Problem: Sporadic feelings of tiredness and difficulty falling asleep some Sunday nights
Potential cause: Irregular sleeping schedule
Solution: Get up early on a consistent basis: wake up by 6 a.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. on weekends
How did it go?
I originally planned to wake up at 5:45 a.m. every day. That didn't work past the first Saturday, so I modified the challenge to be a little easier. Hey, if you make the rules, you can win the game. Overall, I feel pretty happy with the schedule on weekdays, but I've been feeling sleepy on Saturdays and Sundays. It's hard to go to bed before midnight on weekends.
Potential cause: Failure to plan
Solution: Keep a to-do list everyday
How did it go?
Pretty well. I wasn't too ambitious in my lists. Do laundry, pay the electric bill, go for a walk, upload my photos. Keeping a more intentional daily to-do list meant I finally got around to a couple of lingering tasks. I passed along the BookCrossing book that I picked up in August 2008 (no, I never actually read it, and yes, I am a bad person for holding on to it). I tried to put at least three items on each list, and this strategy helped me avoid "wasted days" on the weekends. It is shocking how quickly not now becomes never.*
